Queer Bloc at #ClimateStrike (The Hague, NL)

🔻 meeting at 12:30, by the Internationaal Homomonument Den Haag [https://goo.gl/maps/NKhSjLjyykpQ3WFn7]. if you're late or it's crowded, look for an emergency blanket flag to locate us! 

🔻 for those coming from Amsterdam: some of us take the 11:19 train from CS (platform 2a), others take the 11:49 train from Zuid (platform 4). 

🔻 we will march together with Feministen voor klimaatrechtvaardigheid, Blok voor klimaatrechtvaardigheid en systeemverandering (and possibly others, tbc) to form a truly intersectional bloc! 

🔻 come in time and get your tactical makeup and outfit: we have stickers, flyers, glitter, bandanas, signs, banners, megaphones and "broken rainbow" shields! 

🔻 after the march, we will have a debrief and chillout at Grand Café Utopie, starting at 4pm! this will be a great opportunity to get involved with Queers4Climate NL !

We are Queers4Climate NL – LGBTQIA* folks in the Netherlands who stand against climate breakdown and self-organize for a liveable planet for our communities and species of all kinds.  

This is for two reasons: 

☝️ First, because LGBTQIA* RIGHTS, FREEDOM AND EQUALITY WILL BE EVEN HARDER TO DEFEND ON A BROKEN PLANET. We are aware that around the world, the poorest and most marginalised people have been and are impacted by the climate crisis first and hardest. Black, brown and indigenous LGBTQIA* folks at the frontlines of climate-related disasters, conflicts and displacement face more hardships and discrimination than anyone else.  

✌️ Second, because WE SHARE THE SENSE OF URGENCY OF MANY OTHERS FIGHTING FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE. Queer people in the Netherlands have different relationships and histories with the reality of this struggle. We are aware that our struggles are connected, and our survival depends on our solidarity.  

🤝 We are UNITED IN OUR FIGHTS AGAINST ALL SYSTEMS OF OPPRESSION perpetrated by the policies of companies and states that destroy communities and cultures and the planet. We need to stand for each other across all (state) borders and (gender) boundaries. Kinship is key. No one is free until we are all free! 

✊ Therefore WE CALL ALL LGBTQIA* PEOPLE AND ALLIES TO TAKE TO THE STREETS. On Friday 27 September 2019, the final day of an unprecedented global week of protest for climate action, we will come together in The Hague for the #ClimateStrike and demonstrate that our community will stick together. We will form a bloc for LGBTQIA* folks during the protest and practice care in action. We will bring along signs, props and outfits that are as creative, diverse and fabulous as our community.  

This public appearance will only be the first step to make the whole world know: WE'RE HERE! WE'RE QUEER! SYSTEM CHANGE IS NEAR! 🙃🌏🌈🌱

VOOR EEN TROTSE EN STERKE QUEER AANWEZIGHEID TIJDENS DE WERELDWIJDE #KLIMAATSTAKING!  

Wij zijn Queers4Climate NL — een groep LHBTQIA* mensen in Nederland die opstaan tegen de afbraak van het klimaat en de gevolgen voor onze gemeenschappen en alle organismen op onze planeet. 

Dit om twee belangrijke redenen: 

☝️Ten eerste omdat LGBTQIA* RECHTEN, ZOALS VRIJHEID EN GELIJKHEID NOG MOEILIJKER TE VERDEDIGEN ZIJN OP EEN UITGEPUTTE PLANEET. We zijn ons ervan bewust dat wereldwijd de armste en meest gemarginaliseerde mensen nu al het hardst en het eerst getroffen worden door de klimaatcrisis. LGBTQIA* mensen van kleur en oorspronkelijke bewoners staan aan de frontlinie van klimaatgerelateerde rampen, conflicten en ontheemding en worden met meer tegenspoed en discriminatie geconfronteerd dan wie dan ook.  

✌️ Ten tweede DELEN WE MET VELEN HET URGENTE GEVOEL OM TE VECHTEN VOOR KLIMAATRECHTVAARDIGHEID. Queers in Nederland hebben verschillende relaties en geschiedenissen met de realiteit van deze strijd. We zijn ons ervan bewust dat onze struggles verbonden zijn en dat ons voortbestaan afhangt van onze solidariteit. 

🤝 We staan verenigd tegen alle onderdrukkende systemen die gemeenschappen, culturen en de planeet vernietigen en door het beleid van bedrijven en staten in stand worden gehouden. We moeten ​​over alle nationale en gender-grenzen heen voor elkaar strijden. In onze verwantschap vinden we kracht. Niemand is echt vrij, totdat we allemaal vrij zijn! 

✊Daarom roepen we alle LGBTQIA* mensen en bondgenoten op om de straat op te gaan. Op vrijdag 27 september 2019, de laatste dag van een enorme wereldwijde week voor klimaatactie, komen we samen in Den Haag voor de Klimaatstaking. We zullen een blok van LGBTQIA*-mensen vormen en een veilige ruimte bieden waarin we als gemeenschap zelfverzekerd samen staan. We zullen borden, decoratie en outfits meenemen die net zo creatief, divers en fantastisch zijn als onze gemeenschap. 

Dit zal slechts de eerste stap zijn om de hele wereld te laten weten:
